G'day, a small favour to ask.

I have tried to register but haven't been approved by the administrator yet.

Could someone post the following on the catsailor.net site on my behalf:

G'day Peter,

I have a spare mosquito hull available that is going very cheap. Would you like to add it to your parts for sale to offer a complete platform?

There are also a pair of centreboards and maybe some other miscellaneous items.

Contact me at nick(insert underscore here)billett at hotmail dot com.

regards,

Nick.

Chris Dean

When you said you could get the proctor spreaders for under $300.00, thats obviously for the kit, would you mind telling us where or could you send me a PM, so I can find out so more.

I've decided not to use the carbon arms I've got, the collar fitting that I would have to make and the amount of adjustment, is really suited to round masts of skiffs etc.

Contact Binks Marine in Adelaide on 8294 6211 and ask for Gull.
Tell him I sent you.
I use the standard proctor fittings on the front of the mast and the sides.
Used on F18 and have used on 4.9 with no problems.

Regards
Chris

Hi Chris

I emailed Andrew at Goodalls yesterday asking him what the go is, he reckons the proctor front bracket isn't long enough for a wingmast, he said the rear lugs would be alright but they still make their own, $80 for the front strap and lugs (their lugs are stainless). So buggered if I know. I suppose I order all proctor and see? I took a bit of notice at the nationals, the ones I did see, didn't look like the standard bracket, but then again most of those would have bought through Goodalls.

I just looked the binks online store, they work out to be $272.47, compared with close to $395, so I'll just bite the bullet and get them from Binks. Thanks for that Chris.

Regards

Matt,

Are the spreaders for a Mozzie ?

I got my Mozzie Spreaders from Goolwa Masts. They were a welded aluminium alloy assembly (no adjustment) but 3 sets of holes for the diamond wires. From memory they weren't too expensive.

See the mast fittings thread for further details. <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Regards,

Peter

Hi Peter

No they aren't for the mossie, sorry. Thats the good thing about the mossie, things like masts, spreaders, well almost everything don't cost as much as other classes.

Is that price with the brackets?
Why don't you get them without the front bracket and get the front one from Goodalls. Thinking back I may have used a custom fitting for the front bracket on my Taipans but we difinately use the proctor fitting on the F18
The rear Proctor brackets take 1/4 rivits.
Chris

Hi Chris

The $272 was for the arms, front strap and rear lugs.

Been thinking about today, and came to the same conclusion, buy the arms from Binks ($209) and the brackets from Goodalls ($80). 1/4 rivets are huge, I don't think the Goodall bracket have rivets that size, so that might a good thing anyway.

All,

Sorry about the previous post....they recommend that you get them from Binks as they are the importers.

Ciao
