Top Three Overall Portsmouth
Brian Lambert (CFR 20) 3-1-1 5
Bob Curry (I-17R) 2-2-2 6
Bob Hodges (A-Cat) 1-3-3 7
16 boats raced including 5 Nacra 20's, 2 F-18HT's, and 3 F-18's. Conditions were 6-8 knots E-SE on Saturday. Lambert was clearly the fastest boat in the fleet overall even though the A-cat beat him to the first weather mark in two races. The A-cat and the I-17R had great racing always finishing within 45-60 seconds of each other in each race (about 45-50 minute long races). The Nacra 20's could never save their time on the A-Cat and the I-17R. The F-18's struggled in the light air and were wishing for more wind!
Racing was postponed on Sunday due to the passage of a cold front squall line and then cancelled when a wind increase up to 20-25 knots after the frontal passage was anticipated. The breeze stayed at 10-15 knots and the skies cleared so some of us were bummed we did not get to go sailing in the beautiful conditions.
Randy Smyth dominated the 9 boat Corsair fleet that consisted of his F-25C, two F-31's, two F-28's, a Sprint 750, an F-24 Mk. 1, and two F-24 Mk. II's.
