Penny just dropped , my mind too addled with swally I expect . Anyway after seeing results of recent Grafham it just occured to me if F16's had raced in the fast handicap class they would have virtually had their own class and been able to race two up and uni in same fleet .
There was only one boat racing in fast HCap ,a rejuvinated Tornado which I think we lapped in most races anyway , I would have joined in too with my Hybrid Stealth SXL (hope you don't mind me posting in F16 - its almost one !)
Reckoned we must have fancied our chances against the A's !(top guys fast !)
The Inter 17s were not in same ball park .
Worth watching out for , if similar situation arises again .
Just think we could have been sporting Fast cat hats and powertools
Quick comment on the 17's
1, Mine was ashore as I have sold it.
2, second one, (James, GWSC Fleet captain) sailed down to the start, while coming in off the wire he dis-located his thumb, he then put it back in by him self (and then in the lake to cool it down a little) and then sailed on for a couple of laps until his Kite exploded ! After consulting a Nurse he was told "in no uncertain terms" to stop sailing.
3, Mike sailing the other 17 also buggered up his ankle in some way.
The thing in, all the F16's were sailing single handed !
Are you really saying that you would have prefered to sail in a small fleet of a few F16's plus the XL as a handicap fleet instead of against the top A class and shadow sailors in the UK ?
