Has anyone out there in catamaranland ever sailed Lake Geneva in southern Wisconsin? If yes, where the heck did you put in that was practical? Williams Bay municipal launch seems to be the only option that I can see, but even it is a lousy option. Help!!!

I've sailed it a couple of times. We put it at some boat launch on the northeast corner of the lake. The normal launching fee was $20+, but we were able to get some DNR launch ticket for $6 early in the morning. This was 1992. Other than that, there really isn't any place as the entire shoreline is private and the area is big money. CRAW has had a race there, but we were given special permission to use the public beach at the west end after swimming season. So, the basic answer is that Lake Geneva has no practical place to launch. Sorry.

Hey, I've been hearing your name a lot lately. Are you planning to race with us CRAW guys? We'd love to have you join us. Please do! We have an event in Shell Lake WI this weekend, and then Racine WI Aug 10-11. www.crawsailing.org
