Yes I'll be watching from my armchair in the lounge room with a cold beer.
Hope you enjoy the atmosphere and hopefully it's not too windy.
Regards,
Peter

Posts: 393 Camden NSW | Should be spectacular start. Been word around that it might be a spinnaker sprint to the heads then a nice hard work for the first 24 hours | | | Re: sydney-hobart

Posts: 393 Camden NSW | Well what a day had a very good vantage spot of the start (right on the start line) and close enough to hear the abuse coming from the bow man on abn amro to skandia after dumping right on top of them then vearing off spraying a whole lot of water over him. Hope they all have a safe race as tonight they will be hitting 25knts 4m swell and forecasts predict 40-50knts through the straight and down the coast of tassie.

Posts: 461 Victoria, Oztralia | Hi All
Wild Oats leads over Skandia. Maximus and ABN Ambro One both dismasted in about 30 knots.
So I guess any pressure Wild Oats was under has relaxed a bit.

Posts: 393 Camden NSW | Yeh we got right on the start line and some of the action was awesum. I will be doing the Hobart next year and hopefully it might be on the boat that I used to partially own. Gave me itchy fingers watching it as this was the first time in 3 years that I missed going down | | | Re: sydney-hobart

Unregistered | Hi all,
you guy's are a worry, whats all this talk about wanting or doing Sydney Hobarts .
I thought all the smart off the beach sailors, had tried ocean racing and been cured of the need to inflict this sort of punishment on themselves.
Causing them to return to the pure form of sailing. OTB Cats, where simplicity and performance rules.
It's also doesn't require getting off your face afterwards for longer than the time you spent sailing.
The cure for these irrational thoughts. Fit a spinnaker to your Mossies and you will never want to sail anything else.
Regards Doctor Gary. | | | Re: sydney-hobart
