Hi all, I have been away for some time, and today I have found a movie that I could not keep away from you guy’s.
I just had to share it.
Perhaps someone else already did post it but then again better twice than no movie

Enjoy..

Interesting how you could see the effect of under-rotation of the mast on the main while reaching.

Very good video! I suspect that they know more about video making than making a N6.0 fast though. The sail trim throughout looked pretty horrible. You're right about the mast rotation Jake, plus that jib slot looked very closed when reaching.

It would be interesting to know whether their diamond tension was correct as well, looked a little loose to me.

It would be a nice teaching tool if I could see my own sail trim like that.

If you lie down under the boom, you can <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Or, start looking at the sail, hard, and know what you are looking for. Draft stripes also help.. (sorry if I sound like a besserwisser)

I think that the "Related" one beside it is much more interesting <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

Jebus Unicycle-Riding Christy!

I'd hate to try and draw more people into the sport by producing a pretty good quality video and then get railed on about my sail trim and boat tuning.

:P

Such are the risks of video documentation. <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I would like to add that, sail trim aside, it is a superb video that make me want to go sailing.

There are some other very good videos if you scroll down through the list. Some A cats, f18's, Tornado, Spitfires, and 49R's. <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

No mast rotation, over sheeted Jib, needed about a 6 on the outhaul to flatten the sail more and get a better slot.

Jake,

Is the mast supposed to flex that much to leeward?

Hello Guys,

Here is one of the sailers who made the movie. Thanks for all the reply's. This was our first season with this nacra 6.0na and we are still learning allot.

Thanks to this video some sail trim faults have been noticed.

I have one more question about the overhaul response: It says it needs a 6 on the overhaul, but i dont understand what the writer meant with it. Can someone explain?

I don't know either - he's probably put measurement numbers on his outhaul traveler car.

Great video sir! About the remark:

He obviously means that you would need to move the mainsheet slider (on the clew of the mainsail) farther forward (to reference #6?) so that you would be pulling the foot of the sail more aft, for a flatter sail that would allow the slot between jib and main to increase in size. Also that an easing of the jib sheet would also help open up that slot.

The goal is to have the wind's velocity and volume across the lee side of the sail to be as high as possible.
