Hi All

Does anyone have a picture or diagram of what the inner rear beam casting for the taipan looks like?

I'll try and attach a picture, open for suggestions. Am I on the right track?

Thanks

Hi All

Sorry, attachment didn't work.

What I'm thinking of is a U shape aluminium block, the vertical arms of the U run up the fore/aft edges of the inside of the beam, the bottom of the U supports the head of a cap bolt, a smaller hole is drilled into the top surface of the beam to allow access with a hex key.

I hope that is clear, if not, any pictures or diagrams you may have would be appreciated.

Regards

Matt,
It is just a flat square block of aluminium about 8 or 10mm thick.

Thanks Phill

Saved the day again.

A few weeks ago, I got a 3.2mm slot cutting router bit, and routed the tramp track with it. Worked beautifully.

I'm bedding the beams in tomorrow, just getting it all set up tonight.

I molded in the centreboards the other day, but didn't get the bog to go the sides as much as at the ends, I don't suppose that will matter to much? I was almost going to file out my first attempt and try again, but I'm probably being a bit fussy.

I bought the paint finally on Wednesday, the Luxepoxy and Luxathane, I was surprised by the price, thought it would be a lot more, so that was a pleasant surprise.

I've ordered some Carbon diamond arms from CST composites, they have to cut down a bit to length but thought they'd be a bit different, I need to make my own collar to suit the mast.

I've got to find a photo of the proctor setup to see where on the mast they actually hinge from, i.e at the scribeline or at the forward rib.

Anyway won't be long now, launch expected to be the first race back after the new year, only about 6 months later than I would have liked, but stuff happens.

Regards

Matt
