Hello,

There is a split in transoms which what appears to be old rubber gasket material, which has decayed over the years. I would like to know has anybody ever resealed this section, thinking of using a silicone based (clear) sealer.

Any ideas.

Many Thanks

Mike

what kind of boat?

Generally, silicone does not last as long or seal as well as many of the available "marine grade" sealants. Check with Murrays.com or WestMarine for good sealants.
