Went surfing on Lake Huron with friends. A beautiful day but a tad on the cool side (air 19F, water 34F). Great rides and a great time. I continue to be amazed at present day wetsuit technology. The only time you were cold was taking it off
I can probably help find you a good shrink...

Jake, MauganN20... I'll admit there is something fundamentally wrong with jumping into water when the windchill is near 10F and the water just above freezing But as with any sport it all has to do with having the right gear for the conditions. My surfing wetsuit is rated for frigid conditons and it works extremely well. I'm actually warmer than people on the beach with parkas. We surfed for 3 hours. The only reason for stopping...my arms got tired from paddling. If you can get past the mental blocks and keep an open mind, you'd be surprised at what you can do

Unfortunately, and I wish to God this wasn't the case, but diabetes has severely crippled my circulation in my extremities. Even in a dry suit with fleece socks and wetsuit boots over my feet, they get cold even in Florida in May.
I'd be, well, a popsicle. Litterally

The glacier have been melting down during the last decade. Some of them have completly disapeared. The are mountainlodges that are only accessible through long ladders (85m). 30 Years ago you could just walk across the glacier.
But it's going to snow tomorrow. Hopefully so mutch that, there is enough snow to ski on.
Thanks, but ask anyone I regularly sail with/around.... it makes me bitch alot
I think thats why Ding likes me so much.

Went to the german boatshow on saturday to get some windsurf gear and took some pics at the Hobie stand. The new Hobie 14 Turbo looked nice, there was also a prototype of something that looked like a Hobie 14/16 crossover.

I guess so, next time i'm over at my dealer i'll ask him about the H14 sales numbers. Anyway, I uploaded all the pics into an album: BOOT 2007 Gallery They also had a Tiger, but not with the new sails (as the one at the Paris boatshow). What else did I do? Did some windsurfing on sunday and today stripped the carpets out of my new appartment (boring!).

Well the train to cheer up my son is now finished; he's still crook, and I'm off to check him in a moment. Hopefully this will cheer him up when he get up tomorrow - VHS tape to give some scale:
Thank goodness! I was really distressed when I was told that Hobie Cat U.S. had destroyed the molds for the Hobie 14. Why would you destroy molds? How much space could they take up?
Boat styles are like spike heels and bell bottoms. What is out today comes back IN 20 years down the road.
