Posts: 3,116 Annapolis, MD | No... We are dependent on Mike Grandfield having enough energy to post the results at the end of the day. The class doesn't have a lot of resources. I think PU is still the PRO and they are covering his costs and thats about it.

Posts: 4,451 West coast of Norway | The Rolex Miami OCR champions Bundock and Forbes (AUS) were hit (hard) by the French team of Guichard and Guyader in Race 3. The Australians port bow was holed and a one of the internal structural bulkheads was punched through. They have received redress for Races 3, 4, and 5. SMS Report From Darren Bundock 01/02/2007
Bundock/Ashby sink in 1st race after collision with French. Big hole and broken spinnaker snuffer. recieved average points for 3 races and will use Greek boat 4 the final day. 3 races scheduled tomorrow. Whoopsie! Any more information about this? Glad to see Mike still hanging in there, in front of the chineese team (which must have one seriously steep learning curve in front of them) | | | Re: Tornado North Americans continue in SuperBowl

Posts: 5,558 Key Largo, FL & Put-in-Bay, OH... | Both teams are very good and professionals (or are the french non-pros?), demonstrating that this can happen with anybody. Perhaps we should look harder at having windows in our spis? What does "pro" or "non-pro" have to do with it? And what do you mean by "pro"? | | | Re: Tornado North Americans continue in SuperBowl

What does "pro" or "non-pro" have to do with it? And what do you mean by "pro"? Mary, I believe this infers that the sailors are paid by their sponsors or are industry professionals. They may have no other job other than racing Tornados. That is typical for the best Olympic class sailors in Europe and that makes it even tougher for US sailors. As an example, Roman Hagara is an officer in the Austrian military and his job is racing Tornados representing Austria which obviously he does very well. It should also be obvious that if you are a "pro" by this definition, you are probably a better sailor than most of us weekend warrior grunts and Rolf's point was that collisions of this nature can even happen at this level of the sport. It does not matter how good a sailor you are, if you don't see the othe boat, you don't see the other boat. In my experience racing in the Tornado class against these guys (and I would guess in yours and Ricks experience with them), the top echelon of the class is very friendly, approachable, and humble and contrary to Maugan's assertion, their poop has the same charecteristics as everyone elses! Posts: 6,049 Sebring, Florida. | Well those Tornado boys will have their hands full today! That should make up for the lack of wind yesterday, I nearly got blown off my dock a minute ago! OR, do they have an upper limit for the racing? It's gusting well above 20-25 here now. <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />
