Posts: 23 Bjärred, Sweden | I will pick up my Stealth F16 -2004 in March :-). Does anyone know where to find information about how to rig/de-rig the boat. Does Stealth have assembly guides/spare part guides like Hobie has?
Can any of you Stealth sailors please help me out?

Posts: 23 Bjärred, Sweden | I will sail in southern parts of Sweden, there are no other Stealth’s what I know of (in the area or in other parts of Sweden). I have sailed a Hobie 16 for a few years now. I’m really looking forward to the extra speed, and the possibility to sail the boat single handed, without the righting issue.

what club do you sail out of? We should really try to get the F-16 class going in Scandinavia.. I totally agree. Of course our numbers are still low, as far as I know there are maybe two F16's (Taipan + Stealth now) in Sweden, at least one project in Norway (Rolf, are there more than you?) and three Blade projects here in Finland. For example agreeing on participating to specific open event where we could race each other it could be worth of travel, maybe for summer 2008 because most of these boats are not on water yet . -- Valtteri | | | Re: Rig/ de-rig a Stealth F16

Posts: 23 Bjärred, Sweden | We have a small sailing club which I’m a member at, however most of the members sail different kinds of dinghy’s. It is located 25 km north of Malmö. I estimate that there are at least 20 different kinds of catamarans in a 45 km area, mostly different kinds of Hobies. But I have a feeling that the multihull trend is growing in Sweden and many of the Hobies are a bit old. It would be great fun to get the F-16 class going in Scandinavia. Where do you sail Rolf?

Posts: 4,451 West coast of Norway | I live in Molde, on the northwesteren coast of Norway ("close" to Trondhjem). However my mother lives just outside Falkenberg , in Glommen, and I have been racing tornados in both Malmø and Landskrona/Borstahusen. 25km north of Malmø, that would be..?
I think we will see a growth in both the F-16 and the F-18 class the coming years here in scandinavia, but I also hope there is room for a 20 footer and the proposed F-23 offshore racer Realistically speaking, the F-16 and F-18 are the classes to watch. The F-16 should have the largest "hobby" potential due to its versatility, and grow to be the largest class of the two. The two largest problems for growth here are the heavy monohull bias and the cost of new or used F-16s. As time progresses, I think we will see F-16s all over the peninsula. I know there is a large interest in F-16s where I have been spreading the "message", but price is an concern. Some also worry about the robustness of fibreglass/sandwich boats as compared to rotomoulded hulls *groan*. What's needed to get a class going is PR, PR and more PR. Add some used boats and a fun event or two, and we should be able to get going. | | |
