I've tasted the cool aid and I'm committed to building an ice boat. The question is which one?
I've identified a couple of categories and have questions that you guys/girls might be able to help me with.
Questions DN - can I use carbon/foam/epoxy for the body?
Renegade - how many of these are there in the US? Where are they mostly? Any in NE? What are the restrictions on building materials? Average weight? Cartopable? or will I need a trailer.
Nite - same as above plus, sail area? legnth? width? cost to build?
Skeeter - same as above
Basically I'm trying to compare these differient classes. Are they one design or development classes?
I like the car top of the DN, can any of these others be car top-able?
Bill

CARBON OR EXOTIC MATERIAL CANNOT BE USED IN BUILDING A DN YOU PLAN TO RACE IN CLASS REGATTA. IF YOU DO NOT PLAN TO RACE IT YOU CAN BUILD IT OUT OF ANYTHING YOU WISH.THE DN IS THE ONLY ONE OF THOSE THAT YOU MENTIONED THAT I WOULD CARTOP.
DN- if racing is key, best choice, uncomfortable NITE- great machine, take a pal along, cush ride (I own one of each) RENEGADE- like antiques? SKEETER- can you build an airplane?
