Me too! I thought the membership cards were done and mailed. Haven't seen anything yet.
By the way the Shark Class has made an official announcement that they are joining NAMSA this fall.
Now that the season is winding down we ought to all start beating the bushes to get those classes, fleets and clubs to join.
Without membership and only a small bank account it makes it difficult for us to do the things we want to do. So, it is important that we start getting to the folks at this time of the year before they set schedules and collect yearly dues.
Some inroads so far:
*Andrea Livingston, our Youth Chair, appears to maybe getting a multihull into the Orange Bowl in Miami -- this is a premier International Youth Event.
*Jay is working hard on getting some sort of insurance program running
* Bob Blackington has a handle on the membership and the ensuing cards.
* And many are simply spreadiing the word.
However, we really need to get something going and should start right away.
If for no other reason than to get something started I have proclaimed the Tradewinds Midwinter Open Cat Nationals as the NAMSA Nationals as well.
I hope most of you can come to it and help get folks registered and signed up for NAMSA. We could possibly add the cost of membership right into the entry fee -- that could bring in as many as 200 members right there.
Also, that would be an ideal time to have an annual meeting.
Thanks,
Rick
