The greatest beachcat party, I mean regatta, west of the Mississippi, is on like a chicken bone. There has been some uncertainty about whether there was enough interest (by a potential organizer) for this event to happen this year, but concerns have been allayed. Charlie Buller, commodore of the Lake Charles Yacht Club, had the following messaged posted on the AustinCats message board

Jim,
This is Charlie Buller, Commodore of the Lake Charles Yacht Club, responding to enquiries on the Deep South regatta. The regatta will be held on March 31, April 1. I will be regatta chairman and I am currently making final preparations for the event. A notice of race is overdue but is forthcoming. Please advise your locals to attend and we look forward to seeing you here.
Good sailing,
Charlie Buller
