10/05/17 02:28 PM WildCat Regatta Nov 4 - 5, Lake Eustis, FL by David Ingram
Hello All,

It’s almost time for the WildCat Regatta hosted by the Lake Eustis Sailing Club. We have moved the regatta to the first weekend in November to get a break from the heat and hopefully a little more breeze.

If you plan to attend please preregister, it’s time to start writing checks and we need to know what kind of numbers we are looking at. Currently we only have a few boats preregistered if we can’t get our numbers into the double digits we may have to make some difficult decisions.

Below are links to regatta information and the preregistration page. If you have any questions please feel free to reply to this email.

09/26/17 06:09 PM Hobie 21se (non-conducting) comp tip by Bille
The comp-tip on my Hobie-21se is getting over aged from the Las Vegas
sun , and i need to do something about it now.

I can make a accurate mold of it , and build a fiberglass or Kevlar one
using epoxy ; but will the fiberglass conduct electricity, or should i stick
to using just the Kevlar and paint it white ,( kevlar does Not like sun-shine) ?

I wouldn't know how to make another plastic one ; and can't afford a
new one.

Im looking for a Hobie 21 SC to purchase for my growing family. I live in Florida so traveling to Wisconsin is a bit far. Anyone know of one that is available, or a similar style cat that would suit 2 small families on the river? I dont mind traveling 500+ miles and willing to help with transporting someone elses boat while im going.

Current Vessel is 1979 O'Day 25

09/14/17 05:14 PM Irma Damage at Islander Watersports, Islamorada FL by Damon Linkous

A lot of you know Dennis Green of Islander Watersports located at the Islander Resort, (A Guy Harvey Outpost) in Islamorada.

This has been the start of many catamaran races including the Tybee 500 and Florida 300 as well as many others like the A-Class events.

Starting to get info, the Keys are a mess of course but the worse damage was in the middle and lower keys.

Not sure why these pictures aren't embedding, but the links work. The Islander Watersports rental shack is completely gone, the beautiful white crushed stone/sand grounds are plowed up and most of the hotel units were water damaged. Islamorada overall faired OK compared to the lower keys and is starting to get power and cleared roads.

The real recovery has to wait for insurance adjusters to get in a access claims.

09/13/17 04:13 PM Help with Boat delivery by PTP
I am getting a new boat, but unfortunately it is in Florida (Falcon Marine) and I am in Detroit. Anyone have any plans to come my direction and could double stack or pull the boat on a trailer from there to here (or at least closer) sometime this winter?
I realize it is a longshot... but thought I would try!!!
Please PM me if it is a possibility.
