Yeah, I guess you could go through the Snake Creek lift bridge, or go farther south to Channel 5 (which would be like sailing almost half of the Steeplechase).

Snake Creek is closer, but make sure you have a way of contacting the bridgetender -- and watch out for the current. If it is going from Bay to Ocean, you may not have a choice about waiting for the bridge to go up (have an anchor ready).
