Someone had been making claims of F18 being typically 5 kg underweight.

Sounds like stretch to me to blame water in the hulls for a 189 - 175 = 13 kg weight difference.

Apart from that everything else is the same as the data taken at the GC 2007 but in that case that special someone claimed that the producers were to blame.

I guess the water at Zandvoort is alot less dense then in South Africa! <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Wouter, there is a big difference between OLD boats that WERE BUILT UNDER MIN WEIGHT now over min weight many years later, than new F16s that MANUFATCURES CAN NOT PRODUCE UNDERWEIGHT NEW.

At the 07 Worlds, most boats were under min weight and carried correctors. There were some very old boats where the owners also were not concerned with rigging lightly, that were over weight.

My Capricorn weighs in at 175.3 kg and I carry 4.7 kg lead (5kg max allowed in F18 class rules). Most Capricorns vary between 175 and 177 kg. Tigers and Nacras are about the same.
