I sail out of N. Myrtle Beach. They have a sticker system that provides me with police protection for my boat. I can contact them and ask that anyone found on my boat be removed or charged if the boat has been vandalized in any way. I am not required to have this sticker and there is no time limit the boat can be on the beach. During the recent winter months they have been towing boats that appear to be abandoned in the dunes, if you have the sticker they will not tow you. There are various rules about where the boat can be parked with sails up, life guards will clear the water for me to launch. Landing the boat has become a problem in recent years with the crowding of the beaches and abnormally high tides coupled with erosion. There used to be 15 boats parked with mine, now its just me. I rarely see any cats on the water and people don't even ask for a ride unless its a question about renting the boat or paying for a ride. Its kinda depressing that there aren't more folks sailing in the Myrtle area.
