I tested the battens in one of my sails yesterday to check the position of the pocket and to see whether my battens needed to be further tapered.

The %s where the draft was located when each batten was bent to 10% of its length were: 44.5%, 45.2%, 41.5%, 44.4%, 46.1%, 44.3%, 44.5%.

My first question is, what % are most people using with their mossie battens? From what i understand, most modern cats are using battens tapered to around 35%, where as most monos use battens around 50%. I know the mossie is an older design, with a much lower aspect ratio sail compared to a-class, f18 etc, so im just curious as to what % most mossie sailors have their battens tapered to.

Secondly, is the current spread of %s on my battens close enough, or should the range be smaller.

Cheers.
Michael.
