I assume you don't have a charter arrangement in place yet? I suspect that will be tough, multiple builders have been burned by this in the past.

My recommendation is to run the event in F18's, their are a lot of boats already in the U.S, worldwide it is the most active class, there is a better chance you can get one of the 6+ major builders to signup, and it gives life to the boats after the 2018 Worlds.

The second option, which I suspect is already being worked, is the Nacra F20c. Trouble is the cost to charter for a week is probably going to be high (on the order of what a used F18 would run) and new boats are north of $35k (per my limited knowledge). The current U.S fleet is small, with a handful of boats in Florida and 2 or 3 up in NE. Don't get me wrong, they are great boats, but I just think if you want to draw a healthy fleet the F18 remains the best option. I'll add that net leg times between the two aren't going to be substantially different.
