The crew changes sides in front of the mast during the tack, so the boat dosen't drag the sterns. Because the helmsman is way back at this time and releases the main sheet and handles the tiller. Mutcho mas rapido!

Upwind the crew handles the mainsail and downwind the gennacker, it's the same if you have a jib with a self tacker.
