I've pretty much convinced myself to build a new set of hulls and have sent off the mould cut-files and material quantities to some CNC router companies and fibreglass suppliers.
This is in accordance with my earlier plans to sail the boat until the hull died and then build a set of F16 hulls to go under the rig and beams. Then at some stage a few years down the track, I can upgrade to full F16 beams and rig. The construction of the hulls has just become a necessity a bit earlier than expected (or desired).
I need to look at the brightside, it will be a practically new boat on completion of the hulls!
Unless there is a nasty shock with the composite materials, I will be building in foam and glass with timber stiffeners and some carbon or kevlar reinforcing.
Only thing I'm not looking forward to is the fairing.
