We had sailed timber boats throughout our sailing days and when Matt built the boat, they were just things that he wanted and could do at the time.

From memory they were just a piece of thin foam (airex or similiar) sandwiched with two layers of carbon cloth, from memory described at the time as very wanky (cool) <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
