anyone got the 411 on wall thickness, length, any other pertinent info for NACRA and Tiger spin poles?

What about the new round aluminum booms for N20, Tiger and F18?

Thanks

I'm pretty sure it's 2" OD with a .065" wall thickness....will measure tonight.

What about the new round aluminum booms for N20
Thanks

I don't have dimensions for you, but I will suggest you stay clear of the round boom on the N20's. The only N20's that were equiped from the factory with round booms were the Alter cup boats last year, and that (per my understanding) was due to a shortage on the ususal rectangular booms. The round booms on the 20 were too flexible and caused problems with sail shape under hard sheeting loads. Most of us have already swapped out the round booms for the rectangular. (including me)

Just so that everyone knows, a sunfish spar has the same specs as a stock nacra aluminum pole...

I hope some other F18 folks add their comments here. I'm pretty sure the Capricorn uses a 2 inch pole. I've asked this same question before with no proper answer.

It's interesting to note that Jake's numbers for the F18 pole match the F16 pole...11.5 feet long (3500 mm) and 1.5 inches diameter. The Metric (SI) version at 40 mm x 2 mm is stronger than the American (38 mm x 1.65 mm). We can't get the 40mm stuff here. And true, a used Sunfish spar fits those dimensions.

John Williams, what does your Cap spin pole measure?

The Tiger pole is 1 5/8 diameter. I do not know the wall thickness. Same section as the round boom. The older Nacra F18 pole was 1 1/2 inch diameter. I do not know if the Infusion is slightly bigger around.
