Posts: 833 St. Louis, MO, | If you want to get the job started quick. Drive over it with a truck a few times. Chainsaws also make quick work. Please wear goggles and a mask though.

Posts: 284 Norfolk, VA | OK, this is how I do it--I have it down to a science.
Take the boat apart and set the hull on it's side on the ground. Then, cut off the bow and stern about 6 inches back. Run your sawsall along the entire length of the hull about 2 inches below the deck lip on both sides. Cut the hull into sections about 2.5 feet long. The benefit of doing it this way is that the hull pieces fit inside eachother and you can get an entire hull in one trash can. I have two of the big city trash cans and can get an entire 14 in both, a 16 takes me an extra can.
Whatever you do, wear a mask and long clothes. DON'T use a chainsaw! I used a chainsaw once with shorts on and got a bunch of fiberglass splinters in my legs. Couldn't sleep for a week.
Don't forget you can recycle the aluminum! I get about 56 cents a pound around here!

Posts: 12,310 South Carolina | The resin is tough on a saw blade...I had a fine jigsaw blade only last through one circular cut around the hull on an old destroyed Nacra.
