Does anyone know where in Jacksonville, FL I can get gasket material for my centerboard wells on short notice? Any suggestions for temporary gasket fixes so I can do the Mug race tomorrow? Thanks, Mike

leave them out completely? It's not like they keep water out of the boat or anything - right?

Without the gaskets you get lots of drag from the centerboard trunks. The Tornado have kick up centerboards, so the trunks are quite large. Any sailmakers around Jacksonville? They might have some mylar strips lying around.

Call Layline and ask for the centerboard trunk tape. I'd bet Mike Krantz could get it to Carl Saylor who will be going down there.

I know this is late...but a good emergency substitute would be 1/8" rubber mat cut to size and stuck on with contact cement. This is what the T used to run prior to mylar coming on scene. It is readily available at a lot of hardware stores. Just doesn't last as long at mylar.

Mike.

how about strips out those flexible chopping boards, you will have to overlap them but put the first strip on the rear then overlap as you work forward make sure you let the contact cement set then tap on lightly with block of wood and hammer..
