I decided to post here my latest development mainly because I wanted to share my good mood. Recently the hulls started to look like real catamaran hulls (nice feeling, like a proud dad or something ). Next I'll start to fair the keel line, luckily I like to play with sand paper. I attached a picture about almost shaped Blade hull.
Sadly the Zandvoort is now out of my reach . I seem to have high over estimates about how many hours I can work in a day. Thus the cat isn't ready yet as it should if I would participate to Global Challenge.
Edit: It seems that I don't know how to make the attachment visible, so you need to point and click .
Ok, some new development. The hulls are now mostly faired, only decks are still left. I had some many bumps in the hulls that the fairing took few extra days, but slowly she starts to look like a cat . __ Valtteri
The hulls are now coated with polyurethane paint, it was sprayed lot better than the first primer layers. Hopefully she dosn't look as spotty as in pictures after the paint is fully cured . Otherwise I might need to repaint next spring (and this time maybe by a professional ).
First sail happened today with only main sail. Spi will be up, I just got tired of fitting things and needed to get her on the water . Not much wind, on gusts maybe 10 knots, did get to fly some hull though.
Valtteri, It's great to see your creation sailing.
If you have any close ups of the boat, even just sitting on the beach, I'd love to see them. You have my email address.
I hope you get a lot of enjoyment from the product of your hard work and dedication.
Regards, Phill
I know that the voices in my head aint real, but they have some pretty good ideas. There is no such thing as a quick fix and I've never had free lunch!

That is how all homebuilders start out sailing the boat. I know of no single exception !
But congratulations with your achievement. It is a real boat now. All the items added later are just "performance improvements".

Looks like your mast rotation is still very tight, if so then I would let it out some more.
Welcome to the full club membership, Valtteri !
You are an F16 sailor now. ( Up till now you were "just" a F16 builder ! )

Yeah, we had two issues while on water. First my boom was too bendy, so we couldn't sheet her properly or use full outhaul. Also the mast rotation control was a quick hack and didn't provide enough adjustability for mast. Anyway I know from experience that boats are never done, there is always some fine tuning to be done .
