I use pool noodles with a line through the middle to tie around the sterns. They have worked just fine for me and I only have to replace them about 2x a season.

Jody,
I made my own by laminating a few sheets of closed cell foam together. Then I cut them to shape and glued outdoor carpet around them leaving a tab to put in grommets for bungie.

John Tomko of San Antonio was making them. He made a set for my Marstrom A.

I use the spacers in the spare tire well of VW Jettas. It is used to take up the space between a full size tire and a donut. I had a friend who worked in a VW dealership. I use 4 of them and they have been under a Nacra 6.0 on the beach for over 5 years, and look like they will easily go for another 5.

Glad you like them John. I thought I put a drawing with that post. I know I made a sketch of it. I will see when I get home and post it if I can find it.

Later,
Dan

Dan, A drawing would be good. I was somewhat confused by the descrption. But then again, at times I am easily confused. <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Left my rigid stern cradles on the beach last week and made these up last night. 8 octagonal noodles were a dollar each
at K-Mart end of season sale, 1/2" pvc was in the barn along
with old 1/8" clothes line. The 3x2 models are for my ancient A-Class and the 4x3 models for the Tornado. All I need now are the plastic hooks to put on some scrap shock cord. Elegant and cheap solution to the cradle problem.
