That's great idea, she would probably like a digital camera more than a dry suit anyway, especially one in my size!

Hi all,

great topic. But I think I need Video camera to show you what I see out of my car window (the place I spend most of my time at work). I do 1,000 + kms per week so it varies alot. Luckily most of it is coastal, so I spend plenty of time with water views, driving along thinking of sailing .

But here is a photo of the view from my home office, I do spend a few hours at work at home.

Here's a view from my bedroom window (The only work done in this room is on a part time basis). So far every house I have lived in has had a sea view of some description if Swansea Marina counts. The photo is of Swansea Bay and the wind is in an easterly direction 15mph, air temp 6 deg C and water temp 11 deg C. It's the same today but a few degrees colder thus I'm not racing this morning. I'm just about to go down the Club to see if anyone is mad enough to crew the safety boat as with the wind chill the air temp is probably below freezing.

Well it was absolutely freezing and thankfully the dinghy racing was called off. However, the lead-mines did race.

A view from my office this evening, we have nice sunsets in the UK too. I promise this is straight from the camera no editing at all.

Rolf, great topic! This makes a nice read/view in between work.

Yesterday there was no view at all from my office, due to heavy smog.

Smog is gone today. For us this is special. White and "very" cold (-4°C).

The snow and ice are beautiful but I'm glad I don't have to work in it.

http://www.capecoral.net/wildcams/index.cfm This is not my office but you may find it interesting.

The City of Cape Coral has been home to large scale land developement which resulted in loss of habitat for a great many "critters". Some of the "critters" are now protected and a few have become urbanized.

Be patient while viewing.

On a sad note this visiting critter had recently made Swansea Bay it's home and could be seen feeding from our boat park. For some reason this 40 foot humpback whale died recently and the carcase has been taken to London for tests. The Welsh coast is not normally associated with Whale watching. It's not uncommon to spot baskin sharks, dolphins and porpoises but humpbacks!!!
On a nautical theme. The ship in the background only ever travels from Australia to Wales and back delivering Iron ore for the Steel works at Port Talbot. It normally takes 51 days to get here of which 3 are required to attain a cruising speed of 18knots. (useless information I know)

I grew up just down the road from you in Pembroke, and I remember a similar size whale washing up at Freshwater West beach in the early 80's after a big storm. No effort to find the cause of death was necessary just a digger and a big hole in the sand.
The poor creature had struggled so hard to get back in the water that its stomach had come out of its mouth

Funny! Those are my 4 kids, or so she tells me...

The little one in the middle is my newest crew. All the others have already been through the meat grinder.

The boy was crewing on the Hobie 18 when he was 6 and on the Inter 20 at 10. He's 14 now, plays a lot of basketball, but his girlfriend likes to sail.

Here's what "The Others" do...

Thanks Robi. The brown one in that picture is gone, but we still have 4 more, all are for sale, you want one?

Thanks Dermot, that was a photo from last year at Christmas, thus the tie, and the scratches all over the photo, I don't know what they did to it...?

Dermot, I just saw an add on TV for a movie called, "P.S., I love you" featuring Hillary Swank, (and others) looks like it was shot in Ireland in the background shots. Is that the same movie filmed at Blesso and in which you had a part?

That's the one ! The boat shots are all done right in front of the Club. It was released yesterday - I haven't seen it yet, but if it shows the rib coming to the rescue, I'm the one driving the rib I can boast that I had Hilary in my arms - lifting her out of the rib - not on film
