Posts: 943 East Gippsland, Australia | I would imagine more length could be a problem if sloop rigged - it would catch on the jib. No problem cat rigged though.
I have my wires in the rear-most slot because I am light (74kg) and sail cat rigged - so I'm keen to de-power.
It's important to check where the wires are attached at the base of the mast when comparing rigs. Mine are attached to a single point on the front of the mast. If diamonds are attached to the sides then more spreader rake will be required to achieve the same effect.
