The Olympics are starting in only a few days, and I got this press release giving you a way to give your best wishes (or last-minute advice ) to our sailors.

I sent a message to the e-mail address in the press release and put "Tornado team" in the subject line. Hope it gets to them.

"Your" sailors are not the same as "mine", and probably not the same than the ones people at my sailing club would support, which are also different from yours. So I wish them luck, but not the good luck I wish to my country's sailors

Anyway, the races will be boring as hell in no wind, the TV will snob sailing as usual (except maybe for a 2 second clip of a laser on its side) so we will not see anything.

And I've personally decided not to watch the olympics anyway: I don't see the point of so much wasted money.

My post was directed specifically toward the US Sailors. If you want a thread for your country's sailors, you are welcome to start another thread.

Just checked the NBC schedule, and there will be live on-line video streaming of the sailing events, from 1am-6am EDT. Also, on the NBC Olympics Sailing site site there is a on-line survey asking if the Tornado should be back in 2012, sofar 84% voted Yes.

Good Luck to the US Olympic Sailing Team. Just voted, now up to 85% in favor of the Multihull. Also donated twice to the US Olympic Team. First time, got the jacket, last time the sailing bag. Still time to donate and support the team.

That IS a direct link in arievd's post right before mine. Just scroll down to the bottom of the page where the poll is.

Did everyone send a message to John and Charlie at the link in the press release in the initial post? I figure if we can get a huge number of e-mails to them through that US Sailing site, it will be another way of showing US Sailing how much the multihull sailors care.

Just to make sure you have it again, below is the link to send good wishes to the US Sailing team in the Olympics. Again, if you are directing it to a specific person or team, put that in the subject line. (At least that is what I think you are supposed to do to get it to the right people.)

To send messages to the whole team or anyone within the team, please mail GoodLuckTeamUSA@ussailing.org.

And, AGAIN, if you are not a United States sailor, please disregard this and post your own thread to solicit best wishes for your own country's team.

We don't have any cat sailors in our Olympic squad, so I say good luck to all the olympic cat sailors
I'm just back from a wedding in Palo Alto, near San Francisco. Many of the US squad were staying there while we were there. So good luck to all Olympians
