How many times has the question "How do you rig a spinnaker on a (insert brand here) been asked this month??? I've asked atleast 3 or 4 times <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

I am a moderator of a very busy forum and one of the things that really helps all the new gear heads diving into their car is the stickie/faq section. I have not seen such a feature on Catsailor. Alot of the time the posts are submitted by those with abundant knowledge of a certain subject and are then presented to a moderator for stickie/faq. For example in the Datsun world you could go to the hybridz faq section and come out knowing all things Datsun. Is this something that could be useful to the sites members?
Searching is always the answer when you cant find what your looking for but when you search things like "Spinnaker" you get alot of extra results back. If my signature said "5.2 with Spinnaker' it would pull up my Signature in the search results for example.
Im not knocking Catsailor at all for not having a stickie/faq section im just wondering if there are enough common questions about boat set-up to warrant such a forum?

One thing that would cut down on the false positive search results is a better use of the subforums. I don't know if you've noticed, but everything basically gets dumped into the Open Forum. Searching through it is quite tedious.

There are some excellent car forums out there. The better ones are very organized, and have lots of moderators. God only knows how people that that much free time...

Anyway, one of the potential causes of this is the structure here. The main place that people are pointed is the open forum. The community here is nice enough not to scream at newbies to do a search (that's the downside of some of the car sites, people become jerks if they don't think you've spent enough hours searching).
