Posts: 3,528 Looking for a Job, I got credi... | Ok, I have a question a/b the game...
Does anyone know if it actually is faster to follow the rhumb line that they give us or "cut the corner".
I mean in the game, not in real life. Depends on what the wind does. Thier line is the great circle route I believe; so in absence of any wind issues it would be the quickest route; however; the wind changes!

Thier line is the great circle route I believe; so in absence of any wind issues it would be the quickest route; however; the wind changes! Not to sound snarky, but I understand wind velocity variations for the route. I just wondered if the shortest distance truly is the line they give us (great circle). I should have said, "shortest route" instead of "fastest". I did find this in the FAQ's but I did not see it last time I looked. "Is the world flat? All yacht positions are calculated using spherical trigonometry formulas. So the world is round." | | | Re: I'm finished and waiting to catch your docklines!!!

Posts: 127 Rock Hill,SC | Will, google "great circle calculator", you should be able to find something to compare to the dotted line. I haven't been worrying too much about the line myself, especially this far out.

Posts: 3,528 Looking for a Job, I got credi... | Scooby If you need a replacement skipper I'd fill in for you till the 20th then Im going to be gone. I'll be back the 23rd . Im me if you want to have me start your boat. Might take you up on that one. Lets see how things go; I might just leave the boat on autopilot via the tow-boat and then pick it up when I get back; Anyone no expected length for the leg? I'm assuming about 4 weeks?

Posts: 3,528 Looking for a Job, I got credi... | It's getting very interesting now. I'm hoping that the next 4-5 days are kinda interesting. I'm now gaining hard, but left it a bit late to come south as I was just behind INC LLC but decided to go more east than he(or she). I'm now catching about 600 places an hour so need a few days to catch up 69K
