Hey guys,

I want to add positive mast rotation to the ARC21.

I have a rotator bar that mounts in front of the beam. Do you have any tips or tricks for this arrangement before I start drillin?

With the self tacker, shouldn't it point back?

Make sure that it is really easy to release each time you tack. Get decent cam cleats[Harken] so that you can un-cleat under load when you do forget.

That is a good question. the cuurent set up is this; the boom is in a pocket at the foot of the sail but does not attact to the mast.

I am having a new sail made and will be adding a more common style boom with a gooseneck on the mast.

John Sheifer called the rotator that I have a Platypus style rotator.

I had a Platapus on my Tornado, but wasn't really crazy about it. If perfectly balanced, they worked well.
The reason I asked about the boom is that on the N6.0NA they were boomless and you had to apply positive mast rotation all the time, upwind and downwind.
I had a perfect system on mine and thought I would tell you about that one, but if you have a boom, it wouldn't work.

I thought the 21 was boomless!
you don't +pve mast rotation, just make sure that the mainsheet angles aft enough to put some foward pressure on the gooseneck

I guess the ARC21 is somewere in between. The lower batten is a 1" alu tube that runs the full length of the foot of the sail. Not a boomlet. Rotation is controlled by a horizontal plate wit 8 holes to adjust for wind strength. You cannot reset it on the water between legs.

Alright BOY, I finally have most of my major projects off my plate and have my boat is back on the beach after almost a year hiatias. Last year almost killed me. Too much work and no relief valve.

Not a good pic (from my phone) but gives you the idea from last Sunday.

The built in cooler works great. I put ice and beer in it Saturday and there was still ice in it on Sunday.
