Will you guys try to run one this year? Looks like sunny and even some breeze forecast.

OK,
I was working on the old man with "Aww, it's not THAT cold!" but I will desist. I wanted to try out the endpole snuffer since the last sail with the spin was successful and mucho fun.

No cats have expressed interest so far, I think they are going to Nigel's, but we will be racing on Lake Murray also.

Ahh,
The commodian has spoken...

Sounds like a nice spring day of racing in San Francisco Bay.

Kick some butt with your boy, Mr. Mosley.

Happy New Year everyone and have a safe New Year's Eve!

We sailed this past weekend in the Northwest with 15-25 mph winds, 50 degree air temp and 41 degree water. Brrrrrr. I had a shorty wetsuit underneath a neoprene drysuit with booties and gloves and ski hat. Crew had on short sleev one piece with older style upper drysuit (upper wetsuit that seals) booties, gloves and hat. We were toasty because of the physical exertion, but the splashing of 46 degree water is very cooling and made our feet cold after 2 hours. With all this we were still sailing!!! Another awesome day without being on the beach!

It turned out to be a beautiful day, high around 49, 5-10mph winds, the sun poked through about half way thru the racing, and my son skippered to a second place finish overall in the junior fleet. His crew was a little unskilled on the JY15, but we had a great time. Hopefully he will let me crew on his cat one day!

Well done, Dave! BTW- that funny little sail you were pulling on is called a jib. Hint- if you close the slot between the jib main, you go slow...

The jib was trimmed excellently...however we started out casually raxcing so I wasnt raising the centerboard downwind. The we decided we were sailing well and we should try a little harder, so I raised the centerboard and when we got to the leeward amrk and rounded...well that boat doesn't go upwind too well without that board. Duuuuuh!
