Hi All,

I am giving up on my current outhaul set up on the boom (an external loop) and am wanting to go to the car system that most mossies seem to go for as there is too much friction when it gets windy.

Could anyone point me in the direction of where I might purchase one of the outhaul cars for the boom ??

Thanks in advance.

Hi Nick,

as far as I know they can not be purchased any more. frown
There was a guy in Gippsland custom making a similar unit, but he has stopped also. frown

I found some second hand units off old A class's smile after I had set up I beam on my new boom frown , so local boy's are using those cry .

I am using a short section of I beam, with roller car. A lot heavier, but it certainly works under load, mind you I am using 4 to 1 purchase on it whistle .

Windslyce make a low profile recirculating ball car and track for outhaul similar to mainsheet track, that may also be a option.

hey

i made my own car inside the boom and works realy well and its only 2 to 1 purchase, the wheels are made out of nylon material with washers welded on so they dont fall off and it rolls inside the boom with the plate of stainless poking out of the slot in the boom, the the outhaul is internal too

Hi Nic,

I have an old Cobra boom with internal car under the house somewhere you can have.

Let me know and I will dig it out and bring it to the States.

Peter Cobden was making cars for the boom, could give him a call and see if he has any left.

Hi Rob,

I have a mast sitting under my deck that is free to a good home (it has diamonds attached), plus all the shrouds etc and beams.

Basically everything from my old Cobra - Incognito - Stuart Scott built.

The starboard hull failed at the main beam about 13 years ago and it was scrapped and I have everything that wouldnt rot.
