Light weight
High Performance
Can be sailed one up or two up with reasonable close performance
Ideal for mix crews, father/mother with son/daughter or full a youth crew.

A true single hander = can be righted by a european sized guy
Currently boats are offered for a fair price (though folks in US may see this different)

Continous the idea of the Dart 18 with modern increments (can be sailed one or two at the same race, focused on low weight rather than shear power)

most designs have a low weight, so they can be handled on less favorable shaped beaches by a single person.

The class rules reflect the sailors needs, not the manufacturers

Communications happens in english on the internet, allowing to support dislocated sailors. Class members use this possibility. At the end you have a far better support than any manufacturer can give you.

Class is currently build by "fun" sailor, instead of paid pros, giving a homogeneous group with similar interests
