South Carolina | Does anyone know what the overnight beach rules are regarding boats on St. Augustine? Family is renting a house and I would like to have my boat down there for the week without causing a kerfluffle.

South Carolina | I did some research and found some "new rules" posted in 2007 that state Personal property, such as tents, shelters, chairs, catamarans, trailers, towels, shoes and other such items left overnight on the beach are declared a public nuisance and are considered trash. Items cannot be stored in the conservation zones, either. so, I guess that settles that...but I may put in a phone call to double check, or, errr....have a problem with the boat that needs to stay overnight for the repair to cure

South Carolina | I'm pretty sure the snipers would take me out for rolling a boat over the dune. They have a 30' exclusion zone where you can't even put a chair near a dune...yet, you can drive on the beach. There is no beach access wide enough for a boat within several miles.
Wait, if I can drive on the beach (with a permit)...hmmm.

South Carolina | scratch that...satellite photo shows very little beach at high tide added to which, I would have at least a couple of miles to drive on the beach to get there. I'll find some mast-up storage somewhere.

South Carolina | Unfortunately you're not going to be a few miles south in Volousia county where there basically are no rules on what can stay on the beach overnight.
Looks like I'll just have to choose better next time.

It appeared they had some beachfront property populated with chairs and other stuff, in addition to some of those floating docks. May be at least worth the time to consult with them on space (no doubt at a price).

I didn't see any apparent beach access from the satellite photo so I didn't think to call them. Ideally, I want to be within range of our rental house so I can sail the boat up to the beach house to use it for a couple of days (and back to the launch for the night). That place is about 10 miles from there so that's pretty doable if they can accomodate it.
