Advantages Unrestricted opening on both tack, the kite never has to go across the pole to be retrieved unlike conventionnal mid-pole snuffer system. Wider opening to ease the launch and retrieval of the kite Lighter than the original Bimare design, weigth is about 2lbs Removable sock made of UV resistant "smoke" fabric. Built in two pieces (like a windsurf mast) for easy transport [/color]

Posts: 2,844 42.904444 N; 88.008586 W | I have an integrated, snuffer, that's a tube, no bags to hang down wet, on the lower jib tacked Nacra 6.0.
It's a mid pole, between the forestay and fore end of the CF apin pole. Held on with heavy duty zip ties. It's a piece of 6" sewer/drain pipe, corrugated outside, smooth inside. The fore opening is a customized, plactic 'roof jack', I Put a fiberglass and placitc coated 'roller' on the tip of the opening, since that's where most of the bind is, it just 'rolls' right in the tube.
On my 6.o, the larger 'e-o' snuffer would catch waves, and w/o the chute up, it would wrap the cf pole under the bows, and when the boat would slow down from the resistence, it would 'snap' back in place. Then the bag and spin would get all wet, hanging very low, catching every wave off shore, as in the Great TX.
My problems of the lower poled 6.0 have been solved with my new snuffer system. Tramping it is often out of the question on my 6.0, with the already cluttered tramp, unless the crew realy know the boat and lines, they get lost in the lines, frustrated, etc.
The whole system is NOT heavy at all, Tomko even picked it up and agreed. Works great! Sorry, no pics yet. Maybe it will get on a picture in the Great Texas race in a few weeks.
