Posts: 833 St. Louis, MO, | All numbers under 976 were Nacra. 976 and above were Hobie's. There were no other types of cats at this event.

Posts: 833 St. Louis, MO, | Not quite right... 930 was the latest Nacra Number. 964 and 939 were Hobie Tigers. There were 12 Nacras and 26 Hobie Tigers. I can assure you that Murray on 964 was on a Nacra F18. I'm not sure about Palmer on 939 but I thought he was on a Nacra but I could be wrong. I think it's great that both groups supported the event fully and that we got to really measure the boats against eachother. I sailed right next to Nacra's all week and I couldn't tell any advantage or disadvantage between the two boats. They seem to be very equal on all points of sail. It's an impressive formula. I did notice that the teams with the small sails tended to do better in the light air races. I have no idea if that was related to skipper ability or weight. My guess would be skipper ability.
