Gary sailed his Blade F16 at the Taipan VIC titles and here are the results :

He DNF-ed in 5th race and DNC-ed in the 6th, still got 3rd place in the open fleet (7 boats) composed of the Capricorn F18's, Taipan 5.7's (with spi) and the lone small Blade F16.

Going into the 5th race (his DNF) Gary was tied with Greg Goodall (Cap F18) and Chris Boag (Taipan 5.7) for first place !

If they used the VYC handicaps then Gary was sailing off a rating of 71 while both the F18 and T5.7's were sailing of 70. This is consistent with the Texel ratings F18/F16 of 101/102 and a projected USPN rating off F18/F16 = 62.4/63.3. That latter is still F18/F16 = 62.4/65.2 now, an additional 3% slower.

I think we can assume that Greg and Gary are similary skilled sailors.
