Here is what "Undecided" put on Sailing Anarchy.
My fiancee super crew points to some people yelling in the water. I couldn't see them but I started hearing them yell and scream. There were two young boys, about 10 and 6 respectively, both with lifejackets on, and a dad, with no life jacket on... all drifting in the middle of a "channel" between two islands with fanatically careening budweiser-powered Bassholes coming yards away from them, probably not even seeing them.
I come up to them on leeward and Kate grabs the two kids, and hauls them up on the tramp, and the Dad comes up to the stern where I give him a hand up.
Apparently, the kids and the dad went for a swim off the back of their boat, and the wind, which was blowing about 15 at the time on the middle of the lake, had blown their boat away faster than they could swim to keep up and the wife on board couldn't start the motor. At the point I got to them, the Dad told me he was about to lose it and go under.
So we get every onboard, everyone catching their breath, and I ask him, "So where's your boat?"
him: "That Mac26 over there."
Really nice guy, who thanked me time and time again...
That's a very scary situation.
