We raced at ASC yesterday, light (3knots) consistent wind and flat water, 20 degrees, dolphins etc. It was tough, , 30 dinghys, 3 cats, 2 rescue boats and a coach boat all braved the perfect winter conditions. We sailed loops, top mark was well set making the upwind interesting. Half way through 3 Hobie 16s joined in. Racing my mainsail only Mozzie downwind in such light conditions against Fireballs and other spinnaker equiped dinghys was surprising as the Mozzie was faster.
I didn't even get splashed, unfortunately did not get on the wire but managed to lift a hull once ( while sitting on the leeward hull).
Jeffs drove 350km from to race his Nacra 5.8 and a Hobie 18 raced as well.
Next winter race is at Christies, Sunday 15th June, check the weather at the club using their website. Its high tide approx 2pm on 15th so I will checkout the ramp beforehand.
