Pepin, what size pole are you using? 1.5" diameter 0.065 wall (~38 mm, 1.6 mm wall?) aluminum? Or something beefier?
The pole is some kind of alu pole I found in the grass on the ground next to my boat when I bought it. I have no idea where it came from, but it's doing the trick <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />. I'll try to take some pictures this week end, and I'll bring a tape measure as well so I can answer your question about width and wall size because I have no idea...
I guess i should have said, on my boat i think you would have to drill holes.... as my forstay bridal is about 2' behind the tips of the bow's... since i don't sail a 5.2 i am not sure about your needs[...]
The bridal points are at the same place on a 5.2, give or take a few inches.
