Dennis calls me back at 2:15pm...I just need to send him the invoice/estimate for replacement and a copy of the police report. I explained that I purchased this sail at a time when the exchange rate was low and with a group of five sailors so we could share a combined / reduced shipping expense. I was concerned that because the exchange rate today isn't as favorable and that the shipping may not be able to be shared like was done originally - it may cost a bit more to actually replace it. He explained that they don't normally consider shipping expenses but that they would see what was possible once all the numbers were on the table. Nice guy - prompt responses. I'm pleased thus far.

I am sure that when I first purchased the policy for my F18 (which was then transferred to the A-cat) that it was a "replacement value" policy and not an "agreed value" policy. Dennis said it was an agreed value policy...which means they cover me for what I paid for the sail and not what it costs me to replace it. It could be a difference when dealing with the whole boat vs. a small part of the boat or something...I'll figure out what's up with that soon enough when I have a chance later to research my policy details.
