Hmmm... Being the owner of a seasoned Hobie that eventually turns soft and fixing the thing is one thing - but buying one and fixing the thing is a bad idea. Lots of work, money, time... The result will be a more or less fixed boat which will be heavy and will show most likely signs of more delamination a few years down the road.
Take one of those if they give em' away for free or if you need a parts boat. Also stay away from the baots that come with out a title especially if your state requires one. Read about the differences and changes made over the last 30+ years to hobie 16's in order to determine what year of hobie you want.
