To answer a few other questions posted here... no, not a proto type of the next Hobie... just a Tiger as the post title said. Yeah they had the jib off on that run... it was smokin windy and gusty.

No the sinnaker pole didn't break off. Not even after the pitch. By the way, the pole is there because it has to be for sheeting the jib on the self tacker system. They used the jib on other runs.

Do we have more footage (at Hobie Cat USA)? No this clip was hijacked from a site in Europe. I suppose Nissan or Hobie Cat Europe has more and will share at a later date.

Did any one else notice that the dagger boards were in upside down in one of the shots? I figured they were just filling the slot. Ther board head would make the slot virtually solid in the bottom of the hull that way. Trying all kinds of different speed ideas I suspect.
