Monohulls are following an evolutionary path that will eventually arrive to a multihull of one kind or another. However, they are doing it the hard way, so lots of strange creatures will face extinction until they get to where we are now.
I've made the same observation...the problem is that the monohullers that are striving to achieve the stability and speed of catamarans are failing in some very critical structural areas and are becoming LESS safe than the multi-hulls they continuously bash.
