This might sound out of reach, but, if you found a couple or more secondhand boats down here at the right price, one or two of you could drive to vic and pick them piggy back on a trailer or two, as you would know you would a better chance of finding a couple of boats down this way. It is really, in the grand scheme of things, not that far. I helped build a 40ft catamaran in Ballarat, Vic, we towed each hull up there separately and can easily be done if allowed a couple of days.

For getting two new hulls up there I'd be almost tempted to do the same, depending on the transport cost. I recently purchased a mast from Adelaide, I found there was not much difference between us going to pick it up to having it delivered (because of the length). I also felt more comfortable picking it up, because I knew what it was and how much it was worth, so it got the respect it deserved. There were additional costs of course, such as, we stayed the night at a motel on the way home, and meals, but I'm glad I did it.

I've got three mossies here, but I won't be parting with them until I re-paint them and have them basically ready to sail, maybe late 2007, but you would probably be looking at more modern boats anyway.

Regards
