Hi Wildtoy,
I have been talking to Jim and his mould is on the market. If you are looking to get into building a few boats this would be a cost effective way to go. Building a plug, then a mould is very time consuming. You will have enough trouble just getting the lay-up right. When we had trouble with our mould, we priced getting a new mould made. The first quote was $30,000 so we gave up on that idea and spent our money on fixing the one we have. I am sure you could make a plug and mould yourself for a lot less money, but be prepared to spend hundreds of hours in the shed.

There is another mould in Melbourne built a few years ago. This mould has built three boats that I know of. I believe the original owner of the mould has sold or leased it to someone else. They would also be worth talking too.

The way we went about getting new boats on the water was to buy the mould and have someone build the boats for us, First CC Fibreglass built two boats then Boyer Fibrecraft built ten. Jim has closed his doors and we have moved the mould again. Believe me even getting a professional to build boats for you is not an easy process and you will spend many hours sorting out problems.

New Kevlar hulls are available again and transport to NSW can be arranged.
